Ginger from New England Equine Rescues, New Hampshire
Ginger is a five year-old 14.2 hand chestnut Arab/Welsh cross. She stands quietly on crossties, is excellent for the farrier, and will allow you to do just about anything with her once you tell her what you want.
Although she is not yet broke under saddle, Ginger has been bridled using a rubber snaffle bit and a close contact saddle has been on her back with the girth slightly tightened. We have found that she excels at reading body language and could be a wonderful project pony for a child who enjoys teaching a horse tricks and having fun on the ground. Ginger has the potential to be a great pony clubber as well. If endurance riding is your style, she could easily do that. From morning til night, Ginger is on the go looking for something to do, whether it be playing with other horses or trying to roll rocks around with her nose.
While Ginger is a firecracker, if you put her feet and brain to work, she calms right down and will try to figure out what you want out of her and she will do her best to get it right.
Ginger has great potential to be a wonderful pony, whatever your discipline. If she is still with the rescue come spring, she will start training under saddle (focusing on hunter/jumper).
